As part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the first three strike companies of drones have been formed, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of the country Mikhail Fedorov.
“Today, the first three strike companies of the UAV are already ready for battle. Together with partners, they were fully staffed. Handed over pickups, impact copters and Starlinks. All drones are Ukrainian-made. Equipment for the strike companies of the Army of Drones was purchased by private donors,” Fedorov said.
According to him, the drones will carry out reconnaissance and strike missions, as well as direct Ukrainian artillery. The minister noted that donations for the Army of Drones were collected on the United24 fundraising platform. Earlier, they also started collecting for the world’s first fleet of marine drones.
At the end of January, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that companies of drones in the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be formed in Ukraine . It was argued that such companies would be the first in the world.
